We were greeted at the end of our walk by a wonderful lunch. All of it was typical Mayan food (except , of course the coke can you see in the corner). We always has water to ensure we stayed hydrated.
After lunch - we were off across the first lagoon
These canals and lagoons were crystal clear.
This was a trading post, and it was at this point that we were deposited into the canal for the float down to the next lagoon. We had our snorkels, and it was a wonderfully refreshing and scenic float. In the root system along the banks were schools of fish, epiphytes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphyte and orchids.
